YAMAHA DXR SERIES
If there
will be a question, “Is the market for small, portable,
self-powered PA speakers saturated?”, most of the answer would be, “Yes”.
Every major pro audio
manufacturer has at least one model available and here we come up with the top
brand in the list, Yamaha’s DXR mkII series. There is
demand out there for these speakers with a broad array of features, in a wide
variety of sizes, with varying degrees of power, and with an extensive range of
pricing. These are the speakers with which the vast majority of public address,
audiovisual, and light sound-reinforcement work is accomplished. They’re used
by professionals and amateurs alike, in applications as widely distinct as a
single speaker with an 8in. LF driver used in a coffee shop poetry slam to a
16-cabinet FOH rig for a heavy metal show in a 1,000-seat venue and beyond.
There is no wonder, why there are more options available; there are buyers, who
always demands this series of PA speakers.
The DXR features the most extensively
appointed rear panel, with two 1/4in. balanced/unbalanced, two RCA unbalanced,
and a switchable XLR mic/line input, each with its own level control. Stereo
inputs are summed to mono and mixed internally. A contour switch alters the
spectral balance of the speaker’s output with a choice of three settings:
monitor, cut low end and boosted high end; off, no alteration; and FOH/main –
scooped-mids loudness setting.
Main
features of DXR series are,
§ Louder,
Lighter, Legendary
DXR Series has long signified a confluence
of raw power and technological innovation
that reliably harnesses and delivers impressively high output with superior
quality and clarity. The
DXR mkII Series powered loudspeakers are the newly upgraded models of the
series that add even more SPL and feature a larger, yet much lighter 1.75”
Neodymium HF compression driver for extremely clear voice reproduction and
musicality. Performance runs in the family, DXR mkII Series loudspeakers
improve superb high-definition sound and class-leading sound pressure levels of
maximum 134dB SPL - yet in a more compact and extremely functional design that
provides a level of versatility unmatched by any speaker in its class today.
§ Less Weight,
More Power
DXR mkII Series transducers were
meticulously selected and thoroughly customized to deliver ultimate
performance. The high power output woofers deliver very low distortion and
defined, deep bass, while the newly equipped larger, yet much lighter 1.75”
Neodymium precision HF compression drivers produce accurate midrange and high
frequencies up to 20 kHz with less weight.
§ Intelligent
Dynamic Control for Consistent Clarity at Any Output Level
D-CONTOUR is an intelligent multi-band compressor that gives
you powerful and consistent sound throughout all output levels. By constantly
monitoring the output of multiple frequency bands and calculating the optimum
EQ adjustments for each, even the maximum sound output maintains outstanding
clarity and musicality. With the DXR mkII Series, D-CONTOUR provides a more
detailed tuning of your sound with two different settings: FOH/ MAIN mode or
MONITOR mode. FOH/MAIN mode boosts low-frequency to compensate for low-end that
is typically missing when speakers are used in suspended applications or
mounted on a speaker stand. MONITOR mode is completely optimized for floor
monitor application by intelligently taming down the low-frequency that adds up
due to floor reflection, smoothing out a wide range of frequency bands to give you
stunning clarity for monitoring your
sound.
§ High-Efficiency
1100W Class-D Amplifiers
All DXR mkII Series loudspeakers are
equipped with highly efficient Class-D amplifiers that were optimally designed
to match the DXR mkII's HF and LF transducers. These high-performance
amplifiers deliver the highest sound output in their class with 1100W of power,
producing an impressive SPL up to 134dB. They also provide very fast attack and
superior transient response, which greatly contribute to these speakers'
incredible audio performance.
§ Durable,
Compact ABS Enclosures
DXR mkII Series is moulded in rugged,
non-resonant ABS enclosures and are designed to dampen down vibrations caused
by high output levels, producing less distortion and superior sonic quality.
The road-tested enclosures are equipped with heavy-duty steel grilles and
ergonomic, gripped aluminum handles that greatly improve durability and
portability.
